Oven-baked basil potatoes

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g new potatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large garlic clove(s)
  • 2 g basil leaves
  • n. B. Salt and pepper from the mill
  • n. B. Chili flakes from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

A hearty main course that goes well with a salad

Brush the potatoes (with skin) thoroughly under running water and cut them in half lengthwise. Line a baking rack with baking paper and place the potato halves cut-side up. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius (425 degrees Fahrenheit) top/bottom heat. Pour the oil into a small bowl. Roughly chop the garlic and add it to the oil using a garlic press. Finely chop the basil leaves and add them. Season with salt, pepper, and chili flakes and mix well. Brush the cut surfaces of the potatoes with this seasoning marinade and bake the potatoes for about 30-35 minutes. Brush with the remaining marinade halfway through cooking. Cooking times may vary. Arrange the baked potatoes on a platter, garnish, and serve.
