Pastries: Beetroot Brownies

The perfect pastries: beetroot brownies recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 200 g Cooked beetroot
  • 125 g Oat flakes, ground
  • 1 Glass Kidney beans, 240 g drained weight
  • 150 ml Maple syrup
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Cardamom
  • 2 tbsp Liquid coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp Crushed flax seeds
  • 5 tbsp Cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp Tartar baking powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 75 g Finely chopped dark chocolate
  1. Puree the drained kidney beans with the beetroot. Process with all other ingredients in the food processor to a smooth dough, fill into a greased dish (approx. 20 x 20 cm) and smooth out.
  2. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 35 minutes.
  3. Then, if you like, sprinkle with additional grated chocolate or cover with a chocolate glaze.
