Sumptuous chocolate dessert
Bring the milk to a boil with the coffee beans, the piece of vanilla pod, and a pinch of salt, then simmer on low heat for half an hour. If using ground coffee, simply dissolve the ground coffee and salt in the hot milk and let it steep with the vanilla. Caramelize the sugar until light brown, then pour in the milk mixture, which has been strained through a sieve. The caramel will splash and immediately harden, so be careful of sugar splashes. Let it boil until the caramel is completely dissolved. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, then stir it into the caramel. If desired, you can add a little rum or cognac to flavor it. Whisk the egg yolks and the whole egg and mix it into the slightly cooled cream. Pour into dessert molds and bake in a double boiler in an oven preheated to 140°C (284°F) for about half an hour. Remove from the oven, cool, and let rest in the refrigerator for at least two hours. Despite the name, it is a French recipe, the name of which was probably simply inspired by the ingredients.
