Pizza in muffin form

Spread the love

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 150 ml water, lukewarm
  • ½ cube of yeast or a 0.5 sachet of dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • ½ can of tomatoes, 200 g each
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • oregano
  • some cheese, grated
  • Pizza topping of your choice, e.g. ham, corn, bell pepper, salami

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

as a snack in between

For the dough, put the flour in a bowl and crumble in the yeast. Add the lukewarm water and mix everything together. Add the salt and oil and knead well with a dough hook. Then knead again with your hands. Do not let the dough rise, but roll it out directly on a floured work surface to a thickness of 2-3 mm. Generously grease a muffin tin for 12 muffins with butter. Using a round object with a diameter of approximately 12 cm, cut out circles from the rolled out dough and place them in the muffin tin holes, covering the bottom and sides. Cut out additional circles with a diameter of approximately 6 cm. These will serve as the “lids” for the pizza muffins. For the filling, puree half a can of tomatoes and mix with salt, pepper, sugar, and oregano to taste. Add a tablespoon of tomato sauce to each dough-lined hole. Fill the remaining space as desired, e.g., with chopped tomatoes. For example, with ham, corn, peppers, or salami. Sprinkle cheese on top and cover the muffins with small circles of dough. Bake the muffins in a preheated oven at 250°C for 15 minutes. Enjoy the pizza muffins while still warm.
