Plastic disk in the lid of bottles: That’s what it’s for
- The plastic disk in the bottle cap is a gasket.
- This seal has the task of keeping the carbon dioxide in the bottle. Without the plastic disc, the carbon dioxide would escape very quickly from the bottle once it was opened.
- If the seal has come loose and fallen out of the bottle cap, there is a little trick you can use to keep the carbon dioxide in the drink.
- After you have sealed the bottle very well, turn it upside down and place it, neck down, in the drinks compartment of the refrigerator.
- Tip: It is best if you take a glass, cup, or mug and place the beverage bottle upside down in it before putting it in the fridge.
