Poppy seed strudel

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 pack of puff pastry
  • 250 g poppy seeds, ground
  • 125 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 125 ml milk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 shot of rum
  • Cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

For the filling, warm the milk with sugar and butter. Add the poppy seeds, honey, rum, and cinnamon and mix. Let the filling cool briefly. Roll out the puff pastry and spread the poppy seed filling lengthwise on one half. Roll it up into a strudel and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 30 minutes, until lightly browned. Delicious as a pastry with coffee or with vanilla sauce.
