Potato and carrot gratin

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g potatoes, peeled
  • 300 g carrot(s), peeled
  • 400 ml cream
  • ¾ tbsp, heaped vegetable broth, instant
  • herbal salt
  • nutmeg
  • pepper
  • Cheese, grated
  • margarine

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

Vegetarian

Peel the potatoes and carrots and slice them thinly using a cucumber slicer. Grease the casserole dish with margarine and add the carrots and potatoes. Season the cream generously with vegetable stock (or more if you like), herb salt, nutmeg, and pepper. Then add the cream and seasoning mixture to the casserole dish, mix well, and spread evenly. Finally, spread the grated cheese evenly over the top, making sure it’s almost completely covered. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius. Serve with a green salad with a vinegar and oil dressing.
