Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1,000 g floury potatoes
  • e.g. potato flour
  • 1 egg(s)
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • some butter
  • Handful of walnuts, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the potatoes and cook them without salt. Meanwhile, sauté the finely diced onion in butter until translucent, mix with the walnuts, and season with salt. While the potatoes are still warm, press them through a ricer and let cool. Mix with the egg and potato flour until a smooth dough forms, seasoning with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Form dumplings and fill each with a little of the walnut and onion mixture. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Do not boil the dumplings; let them simmer for about 15 minutes.
