Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 800 g cod fillet(s)
- 100 g flour
- 3 small eggs
- 100 ml condensed milk
- ½ pack of baking powder
- 1 tsp, leveled curry
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 pinch of pepper
- 150 ml beer
- 2 kg fat for frying
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours
Combine flour, baking powder, eggs, canned milk, and spices. Add beer until the batter is thick. Cut the fish fillets into bite-sized (3-4 cm) pieces and let them soak in the batter for at least 1 hour. Deep-fry in hot oil for about 3-5 minutes. 200 g of fish should be enough per person, as the batter is filling. Garlic mayonnaise or remoulade goes well with this dish, and you can serve it with potato salad or bread. Or serve it with French fries as a “fish & chips” dish.
