Roasted Hokkaido pumpkin seeds – spicy or sweet

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g pumpkin seeds, from a Hokkaido pumpkin
  • 30 g butter
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • n. B. spice(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Remove the pumpkin seeds from the pumpkin, wash them, and remove any remaining flesh. Melt butter in a pan and add the washed pumpkin seeds. The pumpkin seeds should not be dried beforehand. Roast the pumpkin seeds, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until golden yellow. Then add the sugar and continue roasting until the sugar is caramelized. The roasted pumpkin seeds can also be seasoned with salt, garlic powder, chili powder, or other savory ingredients. A generous amount of sugar should also be added. The roasted seeds taste delicious whether hot or warm.
