Tartar Sauce – Easy Recipe

For the sauce, you need 2 egg yolks, 1 tablespoon of mustard, 3 pickles, 1 1/2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 250 milliliters of oil, 150 grams of sour cream, 1 bunch of chives, and also some sugar, salt, and pepper.

  1. First, place the egg yolks in a tall bowl along with the mustard, lemon juice, 3 tablespoons of water, and a pinch each of sugar, salt, and pepper.
  2. Now mix the ingredients with a hand blender until you get a homogeneous mass.
  3. Then slowly add the oil and mix the mixture until it forms mayonnaise. This forms the basis of the sauce.
  4. Alternatively, you can buy ready-made mayonnaise.
  5. Now cut the gherkins and chives into small pieces.
  6. Then fold this into the mayonnaise together with the sour cream and stir the cold sauce until smooth.
