Austrian recipe

Finely chop the onion and sauté in the hot butter, then add the dumpling bread and toast until golden brown. Whisk the eggs, milk, and salt. Add the parsley, toasted dumpling bread, and sautéed onions to the egg and milk and mix. Cut the knackwurst into small pieces and season with pepper, if desired. To make the dumplings, spread the dough out in your hand as large as possible and fill with the sausage pieces. Carefully close and shape into a round shape. These ingredients are enough for about 3 large dumplings. Then let the dumplings sit in gently boiling water for 15 minutes. Serve with a fresh salad, such as coleslaw.
