Som Tam: Narumol’s Papaya Salad
The perfect som tam: narumol’s papaya salad recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 g Papaya fresh
- Cucumber
- Carrot
- Kohlrabi
- Mango
- 100 g Snake beans
- 100 g Carrots
- 100 g Tomatoes
- 150 g Unsalted peanuts
- 2 Pc. Chili
- 2 Pc. Limes
- 3 tbsp Fish sauce
- 1 tbsp Tamarind juice
- 1 tbsp Palm sugar or coconut sugar
- 1 Glass Surimi
- Clean the vegetables and chilli and cut into strips, cut the beans into pieces approx. 3 cm long.
- Roast the unsalted peanuts in a pan and remove the shell. Crush chillies and roasted nuts in a mortar. Add the beans and tomatoes and mash them lightly.
- Then add sugar, tamarind and lime juice and fish sauce and stir everything carefully until the sugar has dissolved.
- Mix in the papaya and cucumber strips. Serve the salad with surimi – bon appetit!
