the best soup in the world, with dumplings, vegetarian

Wash, peel, and dice the potatoes. Bring a pot of water to the boil, add the diced potatoes, margarine, stock cube, and bay leaves, and simmer. For the dumplings, beat the eggs and salt in a bowl. Gradually add the flour until a dough-like mass forms. Be careful not to over-flour the surface. The dough should still be sticky. Heat a spoonful and drop the dough into the boiling soup, one spoonful at a time. The dumplings are ready when they rise to the top. Let everything simmer for a while. Finally, stir the sour cream into the soup and serve immediately.
