South Styrian Traminer Soup

The perfect south styrian traminer soup recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 125 ml Gewürztraminer
  • 1 small Cinnamon stick
  • 350 ml Beef broth
  • 60 ml Cream
  • 15 g Ice cold butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper from the grinder

  • 2 kl. slices White bread
  • 1 teaspoon Butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper from the grinder
  • Spring onion

  1. Cut the white bread into small cubes – melt the butter in a pan and roast the bread cubes until golden yellow – season with salt and pepper

Traminer soup

  1. Let the traminer simmer gently with the cinnamon stick for about 5 minutes – then take out the cinnamon stick – add the beef stock and cream – simmer again for about 5 minutes – then season with salt and pepper – finally add the ice-cold butter flakes and use the hand blender crack open

serve and decorate

  1. Cut some spring onion (the green part!) Into small rings for the decoration – pour the soup into the plates – add toasted bread cubes and a little spring onion on top
