Spicy Spaghetti Carbonara

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200g spaghetti
  • 100 g bacon
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 chili pepper(s), fresh or dried
  • 1 handful of parsley
  • 100 g peas, frozen
  • 60 g Parmesan, grated
  • 75 g cream
  • 3 m.-sized eggs
  • e.g. salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Finely dice the bacon. Cut the chili pepper into small pieces. Finely chop the parsley. Whisk the Parmesan, cream, and eggs in a bowl until creamy. Cook the spaghetti in a pot of salted water according to the package instructions. Meanwhile, briefly fry the bacon in a large pan with the oil. Then add the peas and chili pieces and fry them. If you like, you can add a little more pasta water to the pan towards the end of the cooking time. Drain the pasta, add it to the pan, and mix everything together. Add the cream cheese and mix everything well. Season with pepper and sprinkle with the parsley. If you have any leftover Parmesan, you can sprinkle or shave it on top.
