Stuffed kohlrabi

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 175 g rice (long grain rice)
  • 4 kohlrabi
  • 2 onions
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ liter vegetable broth
  • 100 ml sweet cream
  • 100 g cheese (Gouda), grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Cook the rice. Peel and halve the kohlrabi, then boil in salted water for about 15 minutes. Hollow out the kohlrabi halves, reserving the insides. For the sauce, peel and chop the onion. Heat the butter and sauté the onion and kohlrabi insides. Deglaze with the stock and cream, and cook for 5 minutes. Puree if desired. Stir 50g of cheese into the sauce. Stuff the kohlrabi halves with rice and place in a baking dish. Pour the sauce over the top and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (E) for about 30 minutes.
