Sweet and sour pork

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g pork
  • 10 tbsp soy sauce, light
  • salt and pepper
  • 60 g starch flour
  • 10 tbsp oil
  • 2 bell peppers, red
  • 1 bell pepper(s), green
  • 1 small can of pineapple pieces
  • 125 ml instant meat broth
  • 125 ml sherry
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 5 tbsp vinegar
  • Sambal Oelek

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cut the pork into small cubes and mix with three tablespoons of soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Then toss in 40g of cornstarch and fry in eight tablespoons of oil until browned. Keep warm. Trim and dice the bell peppers, then sauté them with the pineapple pieces in the remaining oil. Add the meat broth, sugar, soy sauce, sherry, pineapple juice, and vinegar. Season with salt and sambal oelek. Mix the remaining cornstarch with a little water. Use this to thicken the sauce and fold in the meat.
