Tomato chicken soup

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 soup chicken
  • 3 onions
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 large can of tomatoes
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 5 black peppercorns
  • Salt
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Horseradish, fresh
  • 5 liters of water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

Wash and clean the chicken. Roughly chop the onions and garlic. Bring the chicken, onions, garlic, and spices to a boil in a large pot along with the water (the chicken must be covered with water). Simmer with the lid on for about 1.5–2 hours. The meat should easily flake off the bones. Allow the cooked chicken to cool. Then cut or shred the meat into spoon-sized pieces. Heat the broth, meat, tomatoes, juice, and cream until softened, and season to taste if necessary. This soup is incredibly easy to prepare and tastes delicious. Served with freshly grated horseradish, it becomes truly exquisite.
