Ingredients for 10 servings:
- 1 jar tomatoes, dried in oil
- 1 large onion(s)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 200 g almonds
- 4 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vegetable broth, granulated
- 1 pinch(s) pepper, black
- 1 pinch of chili powder
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- 1 pinch(s) curry powder
- 1 tsp sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Spread made from dried tomatoes, almonds, onions and spices
Pour the oil from the sun-dried tomatoes into a saucepan and heat it. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic cloves, and roast them in the oil. Finely grind the almonds in a blender, add the spices, tomato paste, sugar, the sun-dried tomatoes from the jar, and the roasted onion, garlic, and oil mixture, and blend everything together until a marzipan-like mixture forms. Suitable for preparation in a Thermomix or similar appliance. Fresh flatbread tastes especially good with this dish. Served with cream cheese, boiled eggs, and olives, this makes a delicious appetizer!
