Tuna steak with spicy strawberries

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 shallots
  • 4 tbsp grenadine
  • 1 lemon(s)
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds, ground
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • Cayenne pepper
  • 400 g strawberries
  • tuna
  • 4 tuna steaks (150 g each)
  • Sea salt
  • 6 tbsp sesame, black
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Thinly slice washed, stemmed strawberries. Sauté the shallots in butter until translucent. Add the grenadine syrup, grated lemon zest, lemon juice, mustard powder, ginger, cayenne pepper, salt, and strawberries. Mix gently. Heat briefly (do not boil), then remove from heat. Season the tuna with salt and pepper and sprinkle the edges with black sesame seeds. Carefully fry the steaks in the olive oil in a pan for 1-2 minutes on each side. Arrange the tuna steaks on top of the lukewarm spiced strawberries. Garnish with flowers to serve. Serve with basmati rice or Thai aromatic rice.
