Continue using sour milk: eat it instead of throwing it away
If the milk goes sour, there is only a change in taste. For healthy people, even slightly sour milk can still be enjoyed without hesitation. However, you should not continue to use sour UHT milk.
- Baking: If the sour milk goes into a cake or is otherwise processed in the oven, you won’t taste any difference. You can also use sour milk for pancakes.
- Cooking: Sour milk can also be used in soups and sauces. You can then use this in a similar way to crème fraîche or sour cream.
- Meat: Due to the higher acid content, sour milk is particularly suitable for marinades. If you put the meat in milk and spices for a few hours, the individual fibers will become nice and tender.
- Skincare: If you no longer want to eat the sour milk yourself, you can also use the milk for skin care. The milk is always good as a basis for a face mask or additive for the bathtub.
- Pet food: If your cats or dogs get milk from time to time, they can also tolerate sour milk. The animals do not notice any difference in taste.
- Fertilizer: Plants can also take some acid. For this, you should dilute the milk with water. Be sure to only water plants with sour milk that prefer slightly acidic soil.
