Vegetarian Soft Taco

The perfect vegetarian soft taco recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Tortillas:

  • 260 g Flour
  • 0,5 tsp Salt
  • 135 ml Water
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil

Tofu:

  • 1 Pc. Tofu
  • Soy sauce

Blackened Seasoning:

  • 2 tbsp Paprika powder
  • 2 tsp Black pepper
  • Salt
  • 1 Pc. Clove of garlic
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 0,25 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 3 tbsp Dried herbs

Taco sauce:

  • 0,5 Cup Sour cream
  • 0,333333 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice
  • 1 tsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Taco:

  • 2 Pc. Romaine lettuce hearts
  • 1 Pc. Spring onion
  • 2 tbsp Chili sweet and sour sauce

Nachos:

  • 200 g Cornmeal
  • 300 g Warm water
  • 0,5 tsp Salt

Dip for nachos:

  • 225 g Cream cheese
  • 60 g Sour cream
  • 60 g Mayonnaise
  • 1 Pc. Clove of garlic
  • 80 g Parmesan
  • 60 g Grated cheese
  • Pepper
  • 400 g Artichokes
  • 170 g Baby spinach

Tortillas:

  1. Mix the flour and salt. Add water and oil and knead. Let stand for 10 minutes.
  2. Approx. Make 10 40 g portions and place in the tortilla press.
  3. Fry for 3 minutes on each side and keep warm in aluminum foil.

Tofu:

  1. Cut the tofu into rectangular slices and soak in soy sauce for 3 hours.

Blackened Seasoning:

  1. Mix all ingredients to a spice mixture and place the tofu in it so that everything sticks well.
  2. Sear for approx. 3 minutes on each side.

Taco sauce:

  1. Mix all ingredients.

Taco:

  1. Cut the lettuce into very fine strips.
  2. Cut the onion into thin rings.
  3. Mix the sauce with the lettuce and onions.
  4. Heat the tortillas.
  5. Place the salad on the tortillas, then garnish the tofu and the whole thing with the sauce.

Nachos:

  1. Knead the flour, salt and water and let sit under foil for 20 minutes.
  2. Make a large roll out of the dough and cut into approx. 50 g pieces.
  3. Take a piece and press it flat in a tortilla press.
  4. Now fry in a pan for about 4 minutes on each side.
  5. Put eighth and triangles in hot oil to fry until a nice brown color develops.

Dip for nachos:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Spray or butter a tart pan with baking spray.
  3. Mix the cream cheese, sour cream, majo, garlic, Parmesan, grated cheese and pepper.
  4. Drain the artichokes and chop them into small pieces. Add the spinach and bake everything in the tart pan for 20 minutes.
