Sensitivity to weather: symptoms and cause
Whether headache, pain in the legs, itchy scars, tiredness, joint pain or circulatory problems: Sensitivity to the weather manifests itself in a variety of different symptoms. A specific diagnosis is difficult with such a diffuse clinical picture. Similar to spring fatigue, weather sensitivity is anything but imagination, but a biological fact. Because: The vegetative nervous system of weather-sensitive people reacts sensitively to sudden temperature differences and the associated changes in air pressure.
The result: Pulse, blood pressure, hormone balance and immune system get out of sync. This leads to a wide variety of health problems that last for hours or days.
How to combat weather sensitivity
The so-called vegetative regulation of the body is only weakly developed in weather-sensitive people. What helps? Train and harden the body! Plenty of fresh air and exercise permanently strengthen your vegetative nervous system and thus stabilize your immune system and circulatory system. In this way, you can defy a sudden blow-dry much better in the future.
If possible, exercise outside for at least thirty minutes every day. Whether you go for a walk, jog or bike ride is up to you. Morning rituals such as the daily alternating shower will also help you. In this way, your organism learns to better regulate drastic temperature differences. Going to the sauna regularly has a very similar effect. Needless to say, a balanced diet including all the essential vitamins and minerals is also a must when fighting your weather sensitivity. After all, only a healthy organism can easily compensate for radical changes in the weather.
Good to know: Sensitivity to the weather affects young and old alike. Older men and women in particular suffer from so-called weather sensitivity. The difference: If you are sensitive to the weather, symptoms that appear suddenly put a strain on an otherwise healthy organism. In the case of sensitivity to the weather, on the other hand, changes in the weather aggravate the symptoms of existing chronic diseases such as asthma or rheumatism.
