Use
Because of its aroma, it is a good idea to enjoy the yellow pitahaya as fresh fruit. Scoop out the pulp, e.g. B. easily from the lengthwise sliced fruit. It is also ideal for desserts, on ice cream, and in deliciously fruity sauces. The thorns of the yellow pitahaya are usually thoroughly removed at harvest.
Storage
The fruit stays fresh for up to twelve days without refrigeration. However, it should be stored in such a way that it does not become bruised (e.g. set up upright). Pitahayas keep for about a week without refrigeration. If brown spots form on the peel, the fruit should be eaten soon.
