Preface
- am not a friend of Brussels sprouts but my göga likes it very much .... so I had to try again how I can prepare it so that it tastes good to me too .... both variants were delicious, but Brussels sprouts are still not closed belong to my favorite dishes - I hid my Brussels sprouts under a lot of crumbs so I don't have to see them (grin)
Prepare the Brussels sprouts
- remove the outer leaves and the stalk from the florets - wash thoroughly - boil in salted water for about 10 minutes (try, you should still have a bit of bite) - then quench with ice-cold water (this will keep the color)
- Melt the butter in a pan - add the breadcrumbs - add salt, pepper and nutmeg - toast the breadcrumbs until crispy - add the halved, fully cooked Brussels sprouts and mix well
Variation 2 - caramelized with soy sauce
- Let a little butter and brown sugar melt until the sugar caramelizes - add the halved, fully cooked Brussels sprouts and mix well - season with a dash of soy sauce and a pinch of salt
Postscript
- thanks to sri devi for the idea with the breadcrumbs .....
