Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 thick pork schnitzels
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 500 ml broth, fat
  • 4 tbsp tomato paste
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 300 ml red wine
  • 6 tbsp sauce thickener
  • some Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar
  • Flour

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Schnitzel in red wine sauce

Chop the onion into small pieces. Season the pork cutlets with salt and coat in flour. Heat a little fat in a sauté pan. Brown the cutlets on both sides. Then remove from the pan. Sauté the onion pieces in the remaining fat. Add the fatty broth, tomato paste, and soy sauce to the pan, stir vigorously, and bring to a boil. Thicken the sauce slightly with the sauce thickener. Then simmer for 5 minutes. Add the red wine and a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce. Stir the sauce well and season with salt, pepper, and sugar. Add the cutlets and sauté for 10 to 15 minutes until tender. Serve with rice and a mixed salad.
