Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 200 ml vegetable stock
  • 200 ml beer (Altbier)
  • 1 apple, not too small
  • 15 g butter
  • 1 onion(s), red
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Meatloaf, smoked pork, bratwurst, etc.

Peel the onion and apple, finely dice the onion and cut the apple into larger pieces. Melt the butter and dissolve the honey in it, sauté the finely chopped onion, then deglaze with a little Altbier. Stir in the vegetable stock and pour in the remaining Altbier. Add the large diced apple pieces and let the sauce simmer or reduce for about 10 minutes. Purée the remaining apple pieces and onion with a food processor; this eliminates the need to thicken the sauce.
