Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1,700 g tomatoes
  • 700 g red bell pepper(s)
  • 500 g onion(s)
  • 500 ml vinegar (apple cider vinegar)
  • 250 g sugar
  • 70 g salt
  • 3 ½ tsp paprika powder
  • 1 pinch of hot pepper
  • 70 g cornstarch
  • herbs, finely chopped
  • oregano

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel and slice the tomatoes, chop the onions and peppers. Cook everything in its own juices for 15 minutes, then puree. Add the sugar, salt, and spices and bring everything to a boil. Mix the cornstarch with the vinegar, add it, and bring to a boil again. While still boiling, pour into smaller jars. It’s an excellent base for tomato sauce or pizza.
