Plum and poppy seed sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds, preferably unground
  • 3 tbsp plum jam
  • some water

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

with potatoes, asparagus or pasta

Melt the butter in a pan or saucepan. Finely chop the onion and fry it in the butter until lightly browned. Then add the poppy seeds and mix with the onion. Finally, add the plum jam and water. Stir until well blended and bring back to a boil briefly. Note: The amount of water depends on the desired consistency of the sauce. If it becomes too runny, you can simply add a little more jam. This sauce goes well with potatoes, asparagus, or pasta.
