This recipe is for 6 apple roses. First, prepare a greased muffin tin and preheat the oven to 190°C. Halve the apples, remove the cores, and cut them into very thin strips. Place these in a bowl with water and lemon juice. Microwave for 3 minutes. If you don’t have a microwave, you can also heat the apples in a saucepan on the stovetop. It just takes longer. The apple slices should bend easily. Drain well through a sieve. Mix the jam with 3 teaspoons of water and heat in the microwave (45-60 seconds). Cut the rolled-up puff pastry into 6 equal-sized strips. Place the first strip of puff pastry horizontally in front of you. Spread the jam on the top half. Arrange the apple pieces on top in a fan shape, centering the cut sides. If you like, sprinkle cinnamon on the apple slices. Now fold the bottom half of the puff pastry upwards, roll it up from the side, and place it in the muffin tin. Repeat this process with each apple rose. Bake the roses for 40 to 45 minutes. Immediately remove them from the tin, let them cool, and dust with powdered sugar.
