Bacon and mushroom sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300 g mushrooms, fresh
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 50 g bacon
  • 200 ml cream
  • 100 ml water
  • 2 tsp mustard, medium hot
  • pepper
  • Parsley
  • e.g. Parmesan

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

with pasta or toast

Quarter the mushrooms, halve smaller ones. Cut the bacon into strips or cubes. Finely chop the onion, garlic, and parsley. Brown the bacon in hot fat and add the onion and garlic. Sauté briefly, then add the mushrooms and wait until they have taken on some color. Over medium heat, add the cream and water and bring to a boil until the sauce begins to become creamy. Add the mustard and parsley, and season with pepper. For more sauce, I add a little more pasta water at the end. You can also season the sauce with Parmesan cheese.
