Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g wheat flour
  • 1 pinch of baking powder
  • 75 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg(s) (size M)
  • 75 g margarine, soft
  • 100 g ground almonds
  • 2 tbsp coffee, strong
  • 50 g chocolate (mocha beans) or
  • biscuit(s) (amarettini)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 32 minutes

Christmas cookies, makes about 40 pieces

Preheat the oven to approximately 180°C (top/bottom heat, fan: approximately 160°C, gas mark 2-3). Line a baking tray with baking paper. For the dough, sift the flour and baking powder into a mixing bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix everything with a hand mixer (dough hook), first on the lowest speed and then on the highest speed, until you have a dough. Form the dough into walnut-sized balls and place them on the baking tray. Press the mocha beans deeply into the center of each ball. Place the tray on the middle shelf of the oven. Bake for approximately 12 minutes. Remove the pastry from the tray using the baking paper and let it cool on a wire rack.
