Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • ½ packet of vanilla sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 175 g flour
  • ½ pack of baking powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

approx. 40 pieces

Heat the butter in a medium saucepan until a brown sediment forms. Remove the pan from the heat and let the butter cool for 10 minutes. Then refrigerate until cold but not hardened. Cream the butter until light and fluffy. Add the sugar and milk and continue stirring until the mixture is light and creamy. Stir in a little flour, transfer the dough to a bowl, and knead the remaining flour and baking powder into the dough with your hands. Form into logs about 15 cm long and about 3.5 cm in diameter. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1 hour. Carefully line a baking sheet with parchment paper, making sure the right side is facing up. Preheat the oven to 175°C. Remove the logs from the refrigerator one at a time and cut into slices about 1/2 cm thick. Place them on the baking sheet (keep them apart!) and bake for about 15 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely on wire racks.
