Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 100 g butter or margarine
- 150 g cane sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp syrup, molasses or pear syrup
- 1 egg(s)
- 250 g flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes
Christmas cookies
Beat the butter until soft. Add the brown sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, syrup, and egg and stir until the mixture becomes lighter in color. Add the flour and baking powder and mix until a compact mixture forms. Roll two rolls of approximately 4 cm in brown sugar, if desired, wrap in cling film, and refrigerate for 1 hour. Cut into slices and place on a prepared baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (top/bottom heat) for approximately 5 minutes.
