Grandma’s recipe

Mix room-temperature butter with the sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, and bitter almond flavoring. Stir in the remaining ingredients (use the dough hook on the mixer). Form the firm dough into several logs approximately 4-5 cm in diameter, wrap in cling film, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Then cut the logs into approximately 1 cm thick slices and place them on baking sheets. Bake in the oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for approximately 10-12 minutes. Watch the first baking sheet carefully to ensure the cookies don’t overcook. The baking time depends on the oven and the thickness of the slices. After baking, let them cool and store in an airtight cookie tin. The cookies taste best after a few days.
