Aronia – cherry liqueur á la Pitty

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg berries (aronia berries)
  • 500 g brown sugar
  • 1 bottle of schnapps (Doppelkorn)
  • 1 orange(s), peel
  • 1 bottle of schnapps (corn)
  • 500 ml syrup (cherry)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

according to our own recipe from the fruits of the Aronia berry (shrub) – very healthy

Wash the aronia berries and place them in a container. Add the orange zest, then top up with double schnapps and schnapps (1.5 liters of alcohol in total). Add the brown sugar (or rock candy) and stir frequently. Let it steep on the windowsill for at least two months, stirring occasionally. Eventually, the sugar will dissolve. Before bottling, add the cherry syrup and stir well. Strain the liqueur, bottle, and cork. It can continue to ripen in the bottle, but it tastes delicious as it is. The aronia berry (chokeberry, black rowan) contains anthocyanins, flavonoids, and other antioxidants, which are particularly protective for the coronary arteries. It has a mild flavor, similar to that of a blackberry, I think… The longest part is picking, but even that goes quickly because it grows in clusters.
