Fresh pea soup, grandma's style

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 40 g butter or margarine
  • 250 g peas, shelled (approx. 750 g with pods)
  • 40 g wheat flour
  • 1,000 ml water
  • some salt
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Melt the fat over high heat and heat the peas briefly. Sprinkle the flour over the top and heat briefly. Add the water while stirring, add a little salt, bring to a boil, and cook the peas over low heat for 25-30 minutes until tender. Season the soup with salt and garnish with parsley before serving. Tip: Refine the soup with swirl, semolina, or meatballs.
