Chestnut pretzels (shortbread)

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g chestnuts, soft-cooked
  • 125 g butter
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 200 g sugar
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • Cake icing (chocolate)

Working time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

makes about 30 pieces

Cook the chestnuts until soft, peel, and pass through a sieve. Cream the butter with the sugar and egg yolk until fluffy. Now add the pureed chestnuts, flour, and vanilla sugar. Knead into a smooth dough. Transfer the mixture to a meat grinder fitted with a pastry attachment and turn. Place the dough into small rings on a baking sheet. Preheat oven to 175°C and bake for approximately 11-14 minutes until golden brown. Let cool thoroughly. Prepare the chocolate glaze and dip the rings halfway into it. Place on baking paper to dry.
