Spicy roasted cashew nuts

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g cashew nuts, whole, no broken pieces
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp, crushed paprika powder, sweet
  • ½ tsp, leveled curry powder
  • ½ tsp, leveled salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 3 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours 10 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 13 minutes

Set the oven to 160°C fan/convection oven (do not preheat). Sprinkle the nuts with a little salt on a baking sheet and place them on the middle rack. Roast for about 10-12 minutes, keeping an eye on the nuts. Then transfer the nuts to a bowl. Drizzle with a little soy sauce. Season with paprika and a little salt. Stir well until the nuts have absorbed some of the sauce. Change the bowl and place this clean, heat-resistant, dry bowl with the nuts back in the switched-off oven and let it dry in the residual heat for about 1-2 hours. Stir occasionally to allow any moisture from the soy sauce to evaporate.
