Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 thin pork schnitzels or turkey schnitzels
  • 1 pack of sheep’s cheese or feta with herbs (200g)
  • 12 leaves of fresh basil
  • Herbal salt, (organic)
  • Pepper, from the mill
  • Paprika powder
  • possibly chicken seasoning
  • ½ tsp sambal oelek
  • 1 tsp herb cream cheese
  • 1 tsp mild ajvar
  • 1 tsp tomato paste

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

for the grill or pan

Pound the schnitzels quite thinly or have the butcher cut them into pork roulades. Season both sides with herb salt, pepper, and paprika, or with chicken seasoning salt and pepper, depending on your taste. Cut the cheese into 4 equal pieces. Spread a different spread on each schnitzel. For one, use sambal oelek, for one, cream cheese, for one, ajvar, and for the last, use tomato paste. Place a cube of cheese and 3 basil leaves (or more) in the center of the meat. Fold it together on 4 sides and tie it tightly crosswise with kitchen string like a Christmas parcel. Grill for about 15 minutes or sear in a pan, deglaze with a little water, and bake in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius for about 10 minutes. The surprise is that no one knows which version you have on your plate. The parcels taste good even without the spread, just with meat and cheese.
