Cucumber figure eight – decoration for the buffet at a children’s birthday party

Wash the cucumber and cut off a little of the bottom end to ensure it holds securely. Cut off the top quarter lengthwise. Hollow out the flesh of the cucumber where the rowers are sitting and fill it with cream cheese. Cut off a piece at the top of the cocktail tomatoes (the cut off piece will later become the rower’s hat). Halve the corn cobs lengthwise. Place one cocktail tomato on each of the cream cheese (the cut off side must be facing upwards). Place half a corn cob on the tomato as the arms. Now place a grape on each corn cob as the head and the cut off tomato pieces on the rowers as hats. Finally, place the pretzel sticks/grissini sticks as the oars. Tip: For better stability, you can also stick toothpicks where the rower is sitting and then put the pieces of vegetable/fruit on the toothpicks.
