folded white bread with herb butter

Make a dough from flour, water, yeast, sugar, salt and oil and knead it until it is smooth and pliable. Cover with a cloth and set aside and let it rise for about 15 minutes. In the meantime, melt the butter, finely dice the onion and garlic and mix well with the herbs, salt and pepper. Knead the dough again and roll it out into a rectangle, about 5 mm thick. Spread the dough evenly with the herb butter. Cut into strips about 5 cm wide, fold them accordion-like and place them in a loaf pan lined with baking paper. Let it rise for another 15 minutes and then bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 25 minutes. The bread can be served lukewarm or cold.
