Ingredients for 8 servings:
- 1 jar cherry(s)
- 1 vanilla pod(s)
- n. B. sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- some water
- 125 g butter
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 3 eggs, size M
- 250 g flour
- ½ pack of baking powder
- 300 g sour cream
- 4 tbsp powdered sugar
- Mint, for decoration
- Fat, for the waffle iron
- e.g. whipped cream
Instructions
Working time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes
Pour the cherries into a sieve, drain well, and collect the juice. Split the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. Place the vanilla pod and seeds in a saucepan with the reserved cherry juice and 1 tablespoon of sugar and bring to a boil. Mix the cornstarch with a little water, remove the pan from the heat, stir in the cornstarch, and simmer for another minute while stirring. Remove the vanilla pod, mix in the cherries, and transfer everything to a bowl. For the waffle batter, whisk together the butter, 50g sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt until creamy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix the flour and baking powder, alternating with the sour cream. Pour 1.5 tablespoons of batter into the center of a greased and preheated waffle iron and bake until golden brown. Dust the waffles with powdered sugar, decorate with mint, and serve with the cherries and whipped cream.
