Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 2 cups sour cream
- 4 cups of crème fraîche
- 2 large onions (butcher’s onions)
- 2 packs of bacon, diced
- 1 bag of cheese (Emmental), grated
- 4 stalk(s) baguette(s), as wide as possible
- 1 tbsp oil
- nutmeg
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
like at the Strasbourg Christmas market
Slice the onions into thin rings or half rings. Combine the sour cream, crème fraîche, and oil, and season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Spread on the sliced baguette halves, then top with the bacon, onions, and cheese. Bake at 200°C (400°F) until the cheese is golden brown.
