Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 jar pepper(s), pickled (750 ml)
  • 1 jar of pickles (750 ml)
  • 3 large onions
  • 1 kg sausage (hunting sausage)
  • 500 ml tomato ketchup
  • possibly sour cream
  • possibly lemon slices
  • some margarine for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

tasty variation of Saxon Soljanka

Dice the onions and sausage and fry. Place in a large pot or fry both ingredients in the same pot. Dice the gherkins and bell peppers and add them along with the gherkin and bell pepper liquid. Top with tomato ketchup and simmer briefly (about 20 minutes). Let stand for a day, then warm through and serve with sour cream and a lemon wedge, if desired.
