Vanilla pudding apple casserole with toast

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 6 slices of white bread
  • 2 apples
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • lemon juice
  • 1 pack of pudding powder, vanilla
  • ½ liter of milk
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • Cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Lightly toast the white bread in the oven while slice the apples. Heat a little butter in a pan, sprinkle in 1 tablespoon of sugar, and briefly fry the apples, then deglaze with the lemon juice. Whisk together the custard powder, milk, eggs, remaining sugar, and a pinch of salt. Briefly coat the white bread in the butter and place it in a baking dish. Arrange the apple slices on top and pour over the rest of the whisked mixture. Bake at 200°C fan-assisted oven for about 20 minutes, then let it rest for another 20 minutes. Serve warm and sprinkle with cinnamon and icing sugar, if desired.
