Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 head of white cabbage
  • ½ liter of water
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • ⅛ liter vinegar
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp sugar (2 – 3 tbsp)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 large apple, sour

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

as I learned it from my mother

Blanch the chopped cabbage in water or boil briefly. Peel the apple, remove the core, and dice it. Sauté the onion in oil until translucent, then add the diced apple. Then add the vinegar, sugar, and salt. Drain the cabbage and add it to the onions and apples. Sauté until tender and season well with pepper.
