Onion and Ham Quiche

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 large onions
  • 150 g raw ham, diced
  • 200 g cheese (Emmental), grated
  • 200 g flour
  • 250 g sour cream
  • 2 eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • Caraway seeds
  • 50 g cheese (Emmental) for topping
  • chives
  • Oil for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

without bottom

Roughly chop the onions and lightly fry the ham cubes (without fat). Combine both with the flour and cheese. Whisk the sour cream with the eggs, season with salt, pepper, and caraway seeds, and fold into the onion and ham mixture. Transfer to an oiled quiche dish (a 26 cm springform pan also works), sprinkle with cheese, and bake at 200°C (400°F) for 20-30 minutes. Serve garnished with chives.
