Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 6 onions, red
  • 100 g butter
  • 200 g cane sugar
  • 150 ml balsamic vinegar
  • 30 g raisins
  • 3 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

perfect as a sauce substitute on burgers, or as a side dish to grilled food

Peel the onions and slice them into rings. Melt the butter in a large pan, add the olive oil, and sauté the onions over medium-high heat for about 15 minutes. Deglaze with balsamic vinegar, add the sugar and raisins, and simmer for another 35 minutes over low heat until it thickens and reaches a jam-like consistency.
